At Howl Bushcraft we provide an insight into the Natural world, opening up a vast array of natural resources and knowledge. We teach practical skills in a friendly and pragmatic way, skills that actually get used while outdoors. In this way we hope to enable you to act on your interests and take those first steps into the greatest of adventures. The confidence gained from knowing you carry fire in your muscles and mind will change your outlook on the world, suddenly the wilderness will seem full of allies.

We promote the utmost respect for the environment, the ability to pass unnoticed through the woods brings with it a deeper understanding of the wilderness, and our part in it. It is this philosophy which forms the very core of our work.

Bushcraft and the Canoe

Bushcraft Courses

Join us in our 12 acre private woodland just 20 minutes north of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. Our canopied basecamp and a wood fire ensure our clients keep dry and are supplied with tea, coffee and biscuits.

All of our sessions are run with a maximum of 8 people to ensure a high level of interaction with the instructor.

Families are just as welcome as individuals, we’ve ensured the content of our sessions is just as engaging to young people as it is to the over 18’s

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, we're very open and there's no obligations.

Our 2018 course dates are now available! with more courses being added soon...

A Saturday of Expedition Bushcraft and an Introduction to the Canoe

We'll spend the first half of the day looking at the important skills needed to wild camp while canoeing, whatever the weather! We'll make a campfire lunch as a group as part of the course, followed by an afternoon canoeing on a gentle stretch of river to learn some introductory canoe skills.

We'll look at organising your equipment and packing it into the canoe.
