Our Bushcraft Venues
Our primary course venue for our overnight courses is a huge Forestry Commission woodland in the North of Sheffield. This vast expanse of mixed woodland is home the birthplace of British rock climbing, Wharncliffe Side, and boasts access to heathlands, riversides, and both coniferous and deciduous woods. It is with the FC’s exclusive permission that we have the honour to deliver our bushcraft courses in this mini-wilderness on the borders of the Peak District.
Our Private venue where we operate some of our day courses and run our staff training, as well as the BSA assessments is a wonderful private woodland nestled in the fields of the Harewood Estate just outside Leeds. This 4000 acre estate boasts a series of private woods, ponds and a lake, herds of deer and other wildlife, and a vast array of flora to create a wonderful setting for our courses.
Our third venue is a wondrous ancient woodland in the North of sheffield. Our base-camp is nestled in the heart of a vast 400 acre woods, a location of profound beauty with Oak, Sweet Chestnut and Conifer to just a few. Owned and managed by the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, it is with their exclusive permission that we have the privilege to deliver our wilderness courses here and with every client joining us in the woods we're able to donate £10 and support the Trust in their goal of nurturing the local wildlife.
"I grew up in these woods, in fact I was taken to them directly from the hospital after my birth! I've spent countless days walking these paths, watching animals and birds from the trees, and I'm honoured to able to introduce this fantastic place to new visitors whilst delivering my wilderness skills courses." - Jamie Dakota
