Bushcraft Courses
Join us at our extensive woodland venue of over a thousand acres in the north of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, or our stunning oak canopied private woodland set within the Harewood Estate of West Yorkshire. Our canopied basecamp and a wood fire ensure our clients keep dry and the kettle is always boiling so bring along your favourite brew.
All of our sessions are run with a maximum of either 10 or 8 people, that way we can maintain a low presence in the forest in order to experience Nature up close. The small group sizes also ensure a high level of interaction with the instructor, we'll get plenty of one to one tuition through the workshops to develop your skills at your own pace.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, we're very open and there's no obligations.
Peregrine Days: Water Crossing Course.
Peregrine Days: Water Crossing Course.
This day course is pulled straight from the highlights reel on our longer Peregrine Bushcraft Course and covers a suite of detailed, practical methods for approaching the high risk prospect of a river crossing.
NEW FOR 2024
Sometimes when we’re travelling outdoors we may come across a stream which has swollen with heavy rain and now cannot be simply hopped over, or we may have chosen a long distance trail which includes some rivers to cross and we need to know how to tackle this obstacle safely.
Building on classic mountain skills, we’ve developed this stand alone day course for anyone looking for a robust and flexible set of methods to step out into the water without being swept away. Being delivered by experienced and friendly instructors, it’s also a wickedly fun day out!
Travelling outdoors far from home, the road is often difficult and trying of our endurance. But for those whom Adventure calls away from the well worn paths and into the trackless landscapes of the wilds, having a diverse skillset of pragmatic options for terrain management helps us mitigate risks and tackle obstacles which would otherwise stop us in our tracks.
WHAT’S COVERED:
Assessing difficult terrain and mitigating risk
Map interpretation
Reading terrain and features
Route finding
River crossing techniques
Solo methods to river moving water
